“ Ending the trip into the city with soft serve was perfect! Ordered on the kiosk. The staff were pleasant and friendly. Informed me to head to pick up area when they started to work on my order. This was perfect since I'm not a fan of melting ice cream. Great texture. The flavor could be a hint stronger. ”
“ It is a nice matcha soft serve place. It is located in brookline and there is little real estate for seating. Most of the time I go, it is packed with people. There are some bench seating, one small table, and one huge table in the middle for big groups or if you need a place to do work at on your laptop. The matcha soft serve is light, not overly sweet and the right consistency. Only complaint here is that there isnt much of a matcha flavor which is what I look for at an establishment with matcha specialties. However, it is not the worst. I would say it is a little out of the way since parking is not easy during dinner time despite abundant parking spaces on the street and usually when I drive by, there is a line out the door. The staff is super nice and line moves fast with a kiosk and cashier to take your order. ”
“ First time and I'm already in love with the place! It's so cute inside and the nice aesthetic designs are on point. I would say it was very busy around the time we went but the lines were moving so it didn't take us a long time to order. I got the ube latte, matcha soft serve and ube hojicha soft serve. The ube flavor was so good, you can actually taste the flavor. Matcha was good too! You can taste the matcha aftertaste after every bite! ”
“ I cannot count the amount of times we've driven past Kyo Matcha & all of the new businesses that have opened on this block. All new & super hyped on social media. Finally we were able to stop in to see what the hype is all about around Kyo Matcha's offerings. They are a Japanese cafe chain that specializes in matcha desserts and drinks. Today, we tried their ice cream: matcha mixed with milk favored ice cream in a cup with a cone & hojicha mixed with their flavor of the month, which was ube! Also in a cup with a cone. At $7/each, their price is very similar to Matcha Cafe Maiko's soft serve price! Thoughts: Flavors of the ice cream were okay. Did not "wow" me & I found that my ube/hojicha combo was a bit too sweet for my liking. The hojicha also tasted a lot like burnt chocolate. Unfortunately, I could not get myself to finish it. I would come back again to try their other menu items though! Their drinks look good. Matcha Cafe Maiko is still my favorite when it comes to matcha & ube... they're unbeatable (for me), for now. Parking: can be found on Beacon St. Lots of diagonal meter parking spots located across the street, by the train. ”
“ Popped in here after dinner. Long productive day and since it was close by to where we were for the day, we thought let's check out the hype! The space is small, has wall seating with little dinner tray style tables in between every other seat so friends can share the space along the wall. There is also a window counter seating and like 2 tables! We opted for matcha/milk combo ice cream soft serve with cone, and ube + hojicha flavored one. They made it extremely fast, getting a cup cost extra (these days everything does) The matcha milk swirl i got was good but i couldn't finish it. The matcha ice cream definitely had a more earthy note compared to their competitors in the same space (probably less sugar mixed in haha) and the milk soft serve was nice! Wish they had more waffle cone style instead of traditional cone only. The ube was sweet and yummy, hojicha roasted matcha was definitely not my cup of tea but the lady enjoyed it overall. Cute shop would stop back in if in the area, parking is always easy even during busy nights. ”
“ Now that the opening hype is gone and the weather doesn't make you think of chilly desserts. I love anything matcha. The place is a little crazy. It is difficult for a first time visitor to figure out what to order. I learned to go straight to the self-serve screen and then start the hunt for a seat, which is challenging. But I have plenty of time, because order fulfillment isn't particularly fast. ”
“ Loveeee their brown sugar milk cap cake. Milky creamy and not too sweet! Orders are placed through kiosk. Bathrooms and a few seatings with tables available inside and outside ”
“ This place is so cute!!! I haven't had much matcha in my life, so I figured i'd come to try this place out. It's right next to all these busy restaurants and shops in Brookline, and was nice and busy even at 7pm. I love this area so I had to come by! I tried the Matcha Latte with Matcha ice cream, and the Matcha parfait. I went 50% sugar on the latte since I was afraid it would be too sweet, and I really wanted to taste the matcha itself. The latte was delicious, and the ice cream on top really made it taste even better. The matcha was delicious!!! The parfait was really really good, and was perfect with all the toppings, I recommend that the most. Cute place, and there is plenty of parking :) it's always busy here so enjoy the place before winter hits! ”
